Description

As voted in the Independent as being one of the country’s 50 best Wedding venues, the Lost Village of Dode Is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive and sought after Wedding venues in Kent. Far, far away, in a magical place, where time has stood still, in an almost forgotten valley between Luddesdown and Holly Hill, nestled in the North Kent Downs in the South East of England, there stands a beautiful, charming, enchanting, privately owned, romantic, former Norman church – the only trace of the now ‘lost’ village of Dode. The Lost Village of Dode is perfect for couples who want to begin their tale of love, romance and desire, either inside or outside. You can choose from an intimate indoor Civil Ceremony or Partnership and Renewal of Vows. Or for an outdoor Blessing or Pagan Handfasting Ceremony, you can hold your event within the ancient Stone Circle followed by a lavish Wedding Reception, with dancing and then stay overnight, onsite, in one of the two superb award-winning cottages. We offer bespoke weddings, tailored to each couple, or package weddings, so you can have your perfect day exactly the way you want it. After your ceremony guests usually spend time in the stunning grounds, enabling you to have your group photos and enjoy a glass of bubbles and perhaps a selection of canapés. And for your evening reception, we work alongside a number of fantastic professional caterers who can provide a Medieval Style Banquet Wedding Breakfast Reception with all the trimmings. Your Wedding Breakfast might include a hog roast or a roast lamb or we can cater for various dietary requirements...We can also offer a number of unique additions to your day including Ollie the Owl to deliver your rings, or bubbles as you leave the church. No hidden charges and no corkage charge either!

Absoloutley Amazing

Everything was perfect. Dogs were allowed (horse would have been too!) As many visits as you want before your day. It's picture perfect, no decorations really needed. Handfasting was amazing even if it rained in the middle of July, Doug in his coat was superb. Community is amazing! Cannot reccomend highly enough!

No other place quite like it

As a wedding industry provider we have attended hundreds of weddings venues across the South East. Dode is unique, there is no other place quite like it and the word 'Magical ' does not even do it justice. An intimate and historical venue unlike any other.

There is nothing else like it!

We would like to thank you, Doug, and the rest of the team, for all you did to make our wedding run smoothly. Hopefully we will return to Dode sometime soon! The Lost Village of Dode was the perfect place for us to get married, and knew we wanted to enjoy our special day there from the moment we visited. Owners Doug and Mary are extremely helpful, and make the whole process of organising a wedding at Dode as trouble-free as possible. We were made to feel very welcome, and for one day, Dode truly felt like it was ours. Best wishes, Tom and Monique

Everything was better than perfect...

We just wanted to thank you for what was the most truly incredible day. Everything was better than perfect, the ceremonies, the food, the venue itself, just magical. The whole wedding party said it was the most amazing wedding they'd been to. We can't express our gratitude enough. Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts. Mr and Mrs Gibbons

Wonderful memories

We had our wedding at Dode on Saturday and it was a lovely day. On behalf of Stephen and myself I just wanted to say a big thank you for helping us to achieve a memorable day that was loved by us and our guests. Sally and her staff were great, we could not have asked for better caterers and the food was well received too. I would also like to say a special thank you to Graham, he was brilliant from our first meeting with him on the Friday to the clearing up Saturday evening. He was constantly attentive, extremely helpful and very patient with a nervous bride and a certain guest who managed to drink far too much! All in all we could not have chosen a better location for our wedding. Our thanks to you, Doug and everyone who helped us create such wonderful memories.

Truly a unique place...

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and Graham and your team for making Sally and Bobbys wedding so special last Friday. The Lost Village of Dode is truly a unique place but what makes it so magical is the ethos and the feeling that you have created there through your own personality. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to start Sally and Bobby out on their married lives in the the most perfect way. As I think you know the guests came from all over the world, including the North of England ??, and they were absolutely blown away by the setting, the ceremony and the refreshments. Your team and Jo Moody, Sally and Rob, and Matt were fantastic. Thank you again and kind regards
