What is your most memorable wedding?
Ooo hard question! Usually the last one I have done! I really love it when brides come with lots of ideas and I am pushed creatively to come up with something new. One that springs to mind is a barn wedding where the bride wanted me to make my branches table plan fit to a mirror at the venue which looked amazing!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Pretty, feminine, natural, vintage, elegant
What about your business are you most proud of?
I think the level of service I provide, it makes my day when I receive lovely cards and even flowers from happy couples!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
List out your must haves and your nice to haves at the beginning of the planning process and split things in to manageable chunks. Although its a good idea to have a picture of all your stationery needs when you start planning, I always recommend getting the invitations out first then having a little breather before coming back to tackle the on the day stationery, that way you are not too overwhelmed by everything.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So it normally starts with an email or phone call. If you are local I will suggest a consultation in the studio where we look at my existing ranges, different types of card colours, trims and envelopes, and I ask the couple to bring along any ideas they have already, fabric swatches, flower colours and if they have one, a Pinterest board. This can also be done over email if you are unable to visit, but it is always nice to have a chat and a cuppa in person!
I will make lots of notes, and depending on if its a bespoke design or customising an existing one, I will come back with either a pencil sketch or an Illustrator visual, and we will too and fro across email until you are happy with the design. Once we are all happy I will take a £20 deposit to book you in, and when I am ready to order the card I will raise the invoice for payment, and on receipt I will start making the items.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
Not many people are lucky enough to have an infinite budget and It's not for me to dictate what is important, my job is to help you decide what is important to you. Some people think the invitation sets the tone for the day and like to buy the best invitation they can afford, while others prefer to spend more on the things that are keepsakes of the day such as the table plan and guest book. it's your wedding and the most important thing is the one that is important to you.
What is your best seller?
My Tree of Hearts Table plan is my best seller, and all the tree stationery does well, but hot on its heals is the brand new Cotswold Hares range.
