What is your most memorable wedding?
I was booked to do an amazing Alice in Wonderland/Steampunk themed Wedding on Easter Sunday at Hirst Priory. Not only is it one of my favourite venues to work at but we were having a heatwave and my couple had done the most incredible job of decorating every part of their venue from the building to the Woodlands where they had their ceremony. You can view it here on my blog: http://bit.ly/SteampunkAlice
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Documentary, Organic, Flexible, Creative, Friendly
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I get to do something I love everyday and no day is ever the same. I can't even count how many new friendships I've made or stunning places I have visited thanks to being a professional photographer. I wouldn't change it for the world!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's YOUR day, do what is important for you. Your Wedding is to celebrate your everlasting love and bond with each other, whether that means a huge party for all family and friends or a small intimate service to share together.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Oh there's so many to choose from! I love DIY weddings, my favourites have always been when the decor you've chosen has a very personal meaning for you both. This may be represented in trinkets attached to your flowers, the decorations on the cake or the table set ups at your Wedding breakfast.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always encourage us to have a meeting before booking to get to know each other and I love to hear bout your Wedding plans. We then begin planning your pre wedding photoshoot after we've signed the contracts, choosing somewhere personal to you both. No matter how long it is until your Wedding day, I keep in touch with all my couples throughout the process, helping, reassuring or just having a catch up on how your Wedding plans are going. After your big day I aim to have your photos ready to be delivered on your USB within 6 weeks.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A natural shot of you together enjoying each others company, not noticing the world around you but just so involved with each other nothing else matters.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
The Bride & Groom hired a surfboard machine for their reception. I have certainly never been asked to capture the Bride attempting to surf in her Wedding dress before, but it made for some great photos and the Groom got to go in and rescue her from all the layers of tulle!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Wellies & umbrellas! We're British, the weather will always surprise, so let's embrace it!
Describe how you got into photography.
My parents were part-time Wedding photographers and I fell in love with capturing people, their personalities and what is special to them.
