What is your most memorable wedding?
All of the weddings we are involved with are special, however, one particularly memorable wedding involved a celebrity and was featured in Hello Magazine.
What about your business are you most proud of?
We are very proud of the awards and feedback we have received which describe our service as professional, reliable and recognises our attention to detail.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
We recommend choosing your suppliers carefully. Make sure you have met with your suppliers and have seen examples of their work. Ask to see exactly what you will receive on your wedding day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
At one wedding I saw some ribbons hanging at the side of the Wedding Breakfast room with small decorative pegs attached to them. These were so that ladies could safely hang their hats up, ensuring they did not get damaged during the reception.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial enquiry from a couple, we meet with them for a personal consultation. This enables them to see our complete range of chair covers and sashes firsthand and get touch feely with the fabrics. The consultation usually takes place at the couple's venue so that they can see exactly how things will look in the room itself. The couple are encouraged to bring along any colour swatches or examples of their colour scheme so that they can choose the best match from our extensive sash range. Following the consultation, the couple are emailed a fully itemised estimate based on the choices they made during the consultation process, including any special instructions and tying styles. Once the couple have checked the estimate and have sent confirmation that they are happy to proceed, they pay a Booking Deposit. Once the deposit is received we will post swatches of the couple's chosen fabrics to them. Between the payment of the deposit and the event date we will work with the couple and their venue to ensure all logistics are taken care of. About a month before the wedding we confirm final numbers and logistics with the couple. At that stage we then raise the invoice for the balance payment. About a week before the wedding we confirm final logistics with the venue.
What is the best themed wedding you have worked at?
One of the best themed weddings we dressed had a Disney Princess theme where each table was designed around a different princess. The sashes were chosen to co-ordinate with each princess, for example the Top Table was Cinderella and had pewter grey sashes and The Little Mermaid table had aqua blue sashes. Other tables were based around Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine from Aladdin, Mulan and Beauty from Beauty and the Beast. It was great fun working with the bride and groom to choose the different coloured sashes for each table.
What are the decorative trends with brides currently?
Many brides are choosing to have a bamboo styled chair, called a Chiavari or Camelot chair. Brides often like to have this style of chair dressed with just sashes or chiffon wraps.
What is your signature finishing touch?
We are able to offer many different tying styles for our sashes. For us, tying sashes is a work of art.
What decoration do you think every wedding needs?
I think that every wedding needs some sort of decoration on the chairs. The chair dressings are essential to cover unsightly, well used chairs which some venues use. The chair dressings are also an excellent way to add colour to the room and tie everything together with the wedding theme and chosen colour scheme.
